When the Blur Finally Catches Up
I woke up this morning and had a very dramatic realization: The last three months have been a blur.
Not a cute blur. Not a “time flies when you’re having fun” blur. No — the kind of blur where you suddenly look around and think, “Wait… have I been living on autopilot? Who’s been running this ship? Because it sure hasn’t been me.”
For three months I’ve been going from day to day trying to catch up, chasing a to‑do list that seems to grow faster than I can cross things off. And for every item I do cross off, somehow a rabbit hole opens up — and I’m suddenly fixing something I didn’t even know was broken. You know… survival mode. The kind of chaos that feels normal until you stop long enough to notice it’s actually exhausting.
The Holy Pause
But today — finally — I stopped. I took a deep breath. And I remembered something simple but holy:
God did not design us to live like this.
He created rhythms of rest, clarity, and peace. He created us to live from purpose, not panic. And He even gave us a weekly reminder — the Sabbath — because He knew we’d forget. (And oh boy, do we forget.)
Rest Was Made for Us
Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” — Mark 2:27
And as I sat there breathing for what felt like the first time in months, God brought this verse to mind.
A Way Out of the Wilderness
“See, I am doing a new thing… I am making a way in the wilderness.” — Isaiah 43:19
A way in the wilderness. Not a faster treadmill. Not a more efficient survival mode. A way out.
Survival mode is the wilderness — dry, frantic, confusing, and full of detours. But God’s design is restoration, direction, and peace. It’s the shift from “I’m barely making it” to “I’m actually living again.”
And then this one hit me right in the heart:
He Restores More Than Our Schedule
“He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:3
Not “He improves my productivity.” Not “He helps me get more done.” Not “He gives me the energy to keep hustling.”
No. He restores my soul.
Because your soul is the part of you that survival mode drains first.
Choosing God’s Design Again
So today, I’m choosing to step out of the blur and back into God’s design. I’m choosing clarity over chaos, peace over pressure, purpose over panic. And honestly? It feels like coming home.
That’s the heartbeat of Eden Thinking — helping you stop living from survival mode and start living from God’s design. A life that feels like rest. A life that feels like clarity. A life that feels like home.
If You’ve Been in Survival Mode Too
And if you’re reading this and thinking, “Oh no… I’ve been in survival mode too,” then welcome. You’re in good company. And you’re invited to breathe again.
God is already making a way in your wilderness. He’s already restoring your soul. And He’s already calling you back to the life He designed for you.
One deep breath at a time.
Helping you find peace in the garden again — where the chaos quiets, the rabbit holes close, and God whispers, “I’m doing a new thing.”
A Prayer for the Way Back to Peace
Lord, thank You for meeting me right here in the middle of my blur. You see every rabbit hole, every rushed day, and every moment I forget to breathe. Today, remind me that You’re the One who makes a way in the wilderness and the One who restores my soul when I’ve run myself dry.
Teach me to slow down. Teach me to rest like You designed. Lead me out of survival mode and back into Your peace — the kind that feels like home.
Amen.
